Pet Idol Contest
Official Rules


1. No purchase necessary. All federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.

2. Individual submitting entry must be 18 years or older at the time of entry and a resident of Ohio, Michigan or Indiana. Not open to employees of The Blade, Planned Pethood Inc., the Toledo Metroparks and WTOL Channel 11, their respective Pet Idol contest sponsors, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of and any persons domiciled with any such employees.

3. To enter, complete an Official Entry in full, following all instructions, and mail to the address listed on the form. Or submit an Official Entry in person to The Blade weekdays between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. Entries must include photo of pet alone, no humans. To submit photos electronically, email them in jpeg format, 200 dpi resolution or less, to petidol@toledoblade.com. No camera-phone photos will be accepted. Photos will not be returned. Limit two entries per household.

4. Additional Official Entries are also available online at toledoblade.com/petidol and at the front desk of The Blade during normal business hours through March 30, 2009.

5. All entries and photos must be received by close of business, 5 pm on Monday, March 30, 2009 for the pet photo to be included in the contest.

6. Only original Official Entries available through The Blade or online at toledoblade.com/petidol are allowed. Reproductions and photocopies are not valid. Not responsible for lost, damaged or misdirected entries.

7. The first 350 entries received will be posted in The Blade and on toledoblade.com/petidol on Sunday, April 5, 2009. Readers will vote to narrow the pool of pets to 40. Top 40 votes will be posted on Friday, April 17, 2009 for a second round of voting. Votes will be tabulated and the Top Ten winners posted in The Blade and on toledoblade.com/petidol on Sunday, May 3, 2009. The Pet Idol winner will be announced on WTOL Channel 11 on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 8-10am, and in The Blade and on toledoblade.com on Sunday, May 17, 2009.

8. Odds of winning based on number of eligible entries and reader votes.

9. Prizes: Ten (10) Gift Baskets including pet supplies, gift certificates, MetroBark membership, total retail value $125; one (1) Grand Prize, retail value $300. Winners responsible for any applicable tax.

10. Top Ten winners will be notified by telephone on or about Friday, May 1, 2009.
