Woman, 21, gets 13 years for killing
BOWLING GREEN - Saying Sarah Bunch was shown considerable leniency in a plea agreement that reduced the charges against her, Wood County Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry Friday ordered her to serve 13 years in prison - the maximum sentence - for shooting a Northwood man to death and then setting his house ablaze.

2 Toledoans get prison for links to dogfighting

Customers who came up a little short on their bills at the Lewis Carryout could always count on Bassam Kanouh. The smiling, friendly store clerk, known by many as “Sam,” regularly loaned money to those in need. But during his shift Thursday night, family members believe someone may have tried to rob Mr. Kanouh, 46. He was shot inside the West Toledo store, 4252 Lewis Ave.

Two people killed in Toledo during separate shootings
Two people have been shot and killed in Toledo during separate incidents that occurred 13 hours apart. Their deaths mark the 23rd and 24th murders in Toledo this year. No one has been arrested in either case. Flowers were left at the front of the building in which the the earlier shooting took place.

Cafe owner cleared of offering gambling
A local businessman who was charged with gambling for offering a chance to win money with the purchase of a prepaid phone card was found not guilty by a Toledo Municipal Court judge Wednesday, marking what is believed the first judicial decision statewide addressing computerized games that some have called slot machines in disguise.
