About 200 area workers whose jobs have been lost to overseas competition have been approved for Trade Adjustment Assistance benefits by the U.S. Department of Labor.

About 40 workers from International Automotive Components Huron LLC, which manufactured automotive parts, and 160 from Honeywell International's spark plug plant in Fostoria qualified for the benefits.

They include training for employment in another job or career, income support, and job-search and relocation allowances. In all, 3,000 Ohio workers just qualified for the benefits, with most in the Cleveland and Canton areas.
