6 Ohio Subway shops told to pay back wages

An Ohio restaurateur has been ordered by the U.S. Department of Labor to pay more than $8,500 in back wages to 159 employees at six Subway sandwich shops, including four in northwest Ohio.

The labor department said David Andrews, owner of Scripture Only Inc. in Shelby, failed to pay minimum wage and overtime to workers at stores in Upper Sandusky, Fostoria, Willard, and Alvada, as well as two other Ohio stores. The investigation included wages paid for work between October, 2008, and October, 2010.
