The Internal Revenue Service is seeking more than $70 million in back taxes, interest, and fees from Toledo ambulance company MedCorp Inc.
A Lucas County Common Pleas Court filing on March 24 asserts the firm owes $68 million in taxes from 2008 and 2009.
Lawyers for Mark Uhrich, a court-appointed receiver for MedCorp and co-defendant MedCorp EMS South LLC, said in a filing this week the firm faces IRS audits for those years.
MedCorp has been in receivership since August after Huntington National Bank sought a $10 million judgment on two defaulted loans. That judgment was reduced to $9.6 million in February.
