WAUSEON — A Pennsylvania steel firm will invest $3 million in its existing plant in Wauseon, adding 31 new jobs to its steel wire-making operations.

Latrobe Specialty Steel Co., of Latrobe, Pa., said it is expanding in Fulton County with the help of a $36,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Development in November. The funds are for new equipment at the plant, which has doubled its work force since June and has about 24 workers.

Lisa Arend, chief of the Fulton County Economic Development agency, said the 31 jobs average about $11 an hour.
