Disaster declaration set for 45 Michigan counties

LANSING — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has designated 45 counties in Michigan — including Hillsdale, Lenawee, and Monroe — as natural disaster areas because of weather incidents in 2011, allowing farmers to apply for low-interest loans.
