A Sylvania Township firm with potential growing pains is getting an assist from the Lucas County Improvement Corp.

Just Add Water System International Ltd. makes a line of concentrated household cleaning solutions that are sold in cartridges.

The company was having logistical problems because of sudden sales growth and high demand for its products.

The LCIC recently agreed to provide assistance by offering Just Add Water Systems and a second company, Canberra Corp., a maker of cleaning products, several economic development services.

The LCIC's assistance is to be outlined today at a news conference at Canberra Corp. headquarters at 3610 N. Holland-Sylvania Rd.

Officials of the improvement corporation helped the firms secure a long-term lease for property owned by the Norfolk Southern Railway. The LCIC also helped obtain approved from FirstEnergy Corp. to allow the two firms to encroach on the utility's easement along the railroad property and update electrical service supplied by the utility.

Just Add Water System officials added that the LCIC also provided access to logistics experts to resolve export issues anticipated with international demand of the chemical cleaning system products manufactured by the Sylvania Township firm.
