The Toledo Club has named Miguel Cueto its general manager.

The announcement, which was made to club members recently, marks Mr. Cueto's promotion from his role as assistant manager.

Mr. Cueto was chosen because he has demonstrated an ability to manage large events with ease, said Joseph H. Zerbey IV, president of the club and president and general manager of The Blade.

"We were, in a short time, very pleased with his management of the club and his ability to juggle lots of balls at the same time," Mr. Zerbey said. "His management skills were what we were looking for. In particular, he was able to manage a difficult evening, one of which we had more than 800 people and three events."

One of those three events was the Maritime Academy of Toledo Foundation and the club's "An Evening on the RMS Titanic: The Second Admiral's Ball and Silent Auction" held April 14.

Everything went off without a hitch, Mr. Zerbey said.

Mr. Cueto, 60, has been with the club for about four years and said he's looking forward to his new role.

He trained as a chef, worked as one for 22 years, and also has managed other establishments.

"I do have the confidence that things are really going to improve and we're putting together a great team here at the Toledo Club," he said.
