First snow stirs area sales of winter supplies
Snow shovels, ice melters, scrapers, and snow throwers finally began to move off retailers’ shelves this week with the arrival of 3.5 inches of snow in the metro area. “It definitely did get them started. We have really even sold quite a bit of (salt) today,” Evelyn Oswald, co-owner of Do-it-Best Hardware in Lambertville said Tuesday. “Rock salt, shovels, scrapers, it’s all been selling well.”
