Utility mapping crews at work in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN — GIS Landmark, a company that maps public utilities, has been providing its locating services in Bowling Green.

To capture city-owned water assets for Bowling Green’s Geographical Information System, GIS Landmark employees have been conducting an inventory, collecting the physical locations of water services throughout all wards of the city. While contractors are not required to enter the premises of Bowling Green homes, GIS employees will be working around, and sometimes on, residential property.

GIS employees began working in Bowling Green in June. Their work day may exceed standard business hours, with GIS employees concluding work no later than 8 p.m.
