Ohio ranked 11th nationwide for private equity investment in 2012, according to data released by the Private Equity Growth Capital Council, an association of private equity investors. Private equity invested $10.4 billion in 66 Ohio-based companies in 2012, the council said.
The top state last year was Texas with $46.6 billion in private equity investment, followed by California with $35 billion. Ohio edged out Michigan, with $9.6 billion, and Indiana, with $8.5 billion, among the top 20 states, according to the council.
