Cooper Tire establishes 
sales office in Russia

FINDLAY — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has established a sales office in Moscow.

The company announced the new office in a statement Wednesday. Cooper, which finalized the purchase of a tire plant in Serbia in early 2012, sees Russia and the region as a strong future market.

Cooper announced earlier this year that it was being purchased by Apollo Tyres Ltd. of India in a $2.4 billion deal. That deal hit a snag this month when an arbitrator ruled that portions of it must be put on hold until Cooper’s unionized work force reaches an agreement with the two companies.
