Majority interest in Monroe Co. Radio sold

MONROE — Monroe County Radio, an Internet-based radio station serving Monroe County and southeastern Michigan, has sold a majority interest in the station to Thomas Fox, president of Tech Experts, an information technology services company based in Monroe.

Monroe County Radio operates 24 hours daily and features local on-air talent during its daytime programming. It was formed in late 2012 and has about 6,000 listeners who tune in through Web browsers on computers, tablets, and smart phones. The station provides news, features, and entertainment in addition to coverage of local high school football, elections, and local public affairs.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
