COLUMBUS — Huntington Bancshares Inc. continues to expand its footprint in Michigan, announcing this week that it would purchase an additional 13 locations from Bank of America, including branches in Monroe, Dundee, Temperance, and Lambertville.

Earlier this year, Huntington in Columbus agreed to purchase 11 Michigan branches from Bank of America. Huntington said the two deals include nearly $1 billion of deposits. Huntington currently has about 160 full-service locations in Michigan.

“We view Michigan as very attractive,” Huntington CEO Stephen D. Steinour said in a statement. “We plan to continue to significantly grow our presence within the state.”

The latest transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year.
