ROYAL OAK, Mich. — Three Michigan health-care systems say they’ve reached a definitive agreement to combine operations into a new $3.8 billion nonprofit organization.

Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care, and Oakwood Healthcare announced Monday that their boards have approved the deal. The health systems in March said they were in talks about combining their eight hospitals and 153 other patient-care sites.

Under the pact, the organizations are creating a health system called Beaumont Health.
