FINDLAY — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. said Wednesday that its chief financial officer will become president of the company’s international operations.

Brad Hughes joined Cooper in 2009 as the firm’‍s chief financial officer after more than 20 years at Ford Motor Co. Much of his work with Ford was international. In his new role, he will be responsible for Cooper’s operations outside the Americas.

Cooper has manufacturing plants in the United Kingdom, Serbia, and China. International sales accounted for $1.2 billion of Cooper’‍s total $3.4 billion in revenues last year.

Hal Miller, the former president of Cooper’s international operations, will become executive adviser to the chief executive officer. Cooper says Mr. Miller will work on the process to determine future ownership of a Chinese plant Cooper operates with a joint venture partner.

Mr. Hughes will remain CFO during the replacement search.
