The owners’ association at the Briarfield Business Park in Maumee is taking on Lucas County government.

The association, which maintains common areas on Briarfield Boulevard for business owners along the park off of Salisbury Road, filed suit Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, alleging the county owes it $14,221 in association fees and unpaid assessment.

Named as defendants are the county commissioners, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, and the county treasurer. The case was assigned to Judge Stacy Cook. The suit alleges the county owns property in the park, the port authority previously owned property there, and the treasurer may have interest in property there.
