Toledo bankruptcies down sharply for August

Bankruptcy filings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Toledo fell 16 percent in August compared with August, 2013, according to data released by the court Tuesday.

There were 381 filings last month, compared with 455 a year earlier. The court covers a 21-county area of northwest Ohio.

It was the 15th consecutive month, and the 49th in the last 53 months, in which the court saw a year-over-year drop.
