Sylvania man to head Mercy St. Charles

    Jeffrey Dempsey of Sylvania has been named president and chief operating officer at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.

    Mr. Dempsey has been with Mercy for 17 years, most recently as vice president of operations for St. Charles.

    Earlier this year, Kerry Tirman was named president and chief operating officer at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Mr. Tirman was president and COO for Mississippi Baptist Hospital system in Jackson.

    Both report to Thomas Arquilla, who will continue in his dual role as metro chief executive officer for Mercy and CEO for Mercy St. Vincent.
