An Adrian family received a package of gifts last night for being the year's millionth visitors to the Toledo Zoo.

Zoo spokeswoman Andi Norman said that Tom and Katherine Cornelius and their two daughters arrived at the zoo about 5:30 p.m. to see the annual Lights Before Christmas display.

Their gifts include a family membership to the zoo for the coming year; a $250 gift certificate to the zoo's North Star Trading Post gift shop; a $150 gift certificate from the Kroger Co., and a $100 savings bond from KeyBank.

This was the fourth time in the zoo's 100 year history that more than 1 million people have visited in one year.

The zoo is open daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the winter, with the Lights Before Christmas running from 5 to 8 p.m. nightly through Dec. 31 except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
