Rossford gets annexed land at Crossroads

6/20/2001

BOWLING GREEN - With a commitment that Rossford would have a new fire station in operation by year's end, Wood County commissioners yesterday approved the annexation of about 80 acres near the Crossroads of America from Perrysburg Township to Rossford.

Commissioners had previously delayed votes on the annexation requests because they were concerned about the inaccessibility of emergency services to the Crossroads area. Rossford city council recently voted to enter into a lease-purchase agreement for a new fire station in the area bounded by State Rt. 795, Lime City Road, old U.S. 20, and Simmons Road.

Commissioners unanimously approved the annexation of 78.9 acres along both sides of Lime City Road, immediately south of State Rt. 795, and slightly less than one acre off Deimling Road owned by the Rossford Arena Amphitheater Authority.
