Ottawa man faces trial in arson case

OTTAWA, Ohio - A Putnam County man accused of setting fire to a dry cleaning store in October has been arraigned on 1 count of arson, 2 counts of breaking and entering, 1 count of theft, and 1 count of resisting arrest.

Berry Lee Adams, Jr., Ottawa, who was indicted last week, was arraigned Tuesday in Putnam County Common Pleas Court.

Mr. Adams, whom Ottawa police arrested for allegedly breaking into a hardware store, is accused of setting a $130,000 fire in Ottawa Home Dry Cleaners and Carpet on Oct. 6.

Judge Randall Basinger set a Jan. 2 trial date.
