Ken Thompson, Mike Barker, Thomas Lingeman, and Alan Knaggs, from left, level a life-size sculp- ture of legendary University of Toledo marathon runner Sy Mah in Olander Park in Sylvania.

The 240-pound bronze sculpture was created by Mr. Lingeman, a professor of art at the Toledo Museum of Art.

The late Mr. Mah, a physical-education instructor at UT from 1972-88, was listed in the 1989 Guinness Book of World Records for having completed 524 marathons.
