Open house to show off Lima hospital upgrades

9/16/2002

LIMA, Ohio — Several upgrades at Lima Memorial Hospital will be on display to the public during an open house Sunday.

The event from 1 to 4 p.m. will include tours of the renovated front lobby, the new cardiac care unit on the third floor, and the new Center for Orthopedics and Neurology on the sixth floor.

The cardiac unit provides a specific place in the hospital for cardiac catheterization and angioplasty patients. Cardiac nurses will be available in case of complications, said Lima Memorial officials.

The 19-bed center for orthopedics and neurology allows for patients to use private suites that will include specialized equipment for in-room therapy as well as recovery, allowing for patients to remain in their rooms, if they choose.

A wall was built in the new front lobby to allow for additional privacy. A center with snacks and beverages also was installed in the lobby.
