12/9/2002

FINDLAY — State officials will conduct a public meeting today to discuss a proposal to replace the West Sandusky Street bridge over I-75 in Findlay.

The session is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. in the assembly room at the Hancock County engineer's office, 1900 Lima Ave., Findlay. A short presentation explaining the project will be given at 5:30 p.m.

Officials with District 1 of the Ohio Department of Transportation and its consultants will be available to answer questions about the bridge project, which is scheduled for construction in 2004.

Norman Redick, deputy director of District 1, said the replacement bridge is envisioned as a “gateway” to Findlay that will depict the area's role in the petroleum industry.
