Interim treasurer gets Van Wert County post

VAN WERT - The Van Wert County Republican central committee has named a new county treasurer.

Beverly Fuerst has worked in the treasurer's office more than seven years, the last five as chief deputy treasurer.

Ms. Fuerst will replace Harold Merkle, who resigned last month. She had been serving as interim treasurer since Mr. Merkle departed.
