Pair found dead in garage at their home

BRYAN - Police were investigating the deaths of a married couple whose bodies were found in the garage of their home in this northwest Ohio city.

Bryan police did not release the victims' names yesterday, saying that not all family members had been notified. Detective Colin Rose confirmed it was a husband and wife who were found dead in the Ashley Street home.

Detective Rose said the couple had just returned home recently from a trip. The call to police came in about 3:40 p.m. yesterday after someone from a cleaning service arrived.

Police said they will not know whether the deaths are a suicide until the Williams County coroner determines a cause of death.

Detective Rose said until then, police would continue to investigate and he hopes to know more this morning.

The street where the couple lived was still last night. Police said the woman had two grown daughters. Neighbors said the pair had not been married long.

The Ashley Street house sits on the corner of a southern subdivision of well-kept homes and manicured lawns. One man who lives near the home said neighbors were surprised to hear of something like this happening in their quiet section of Bryan.

The man, who did not give his name, said the man lived there only about two years and usually kept to himself.
