Wood County seeks advocates for children

BOWLING GREEN - Wood County's court-appointed special advocate program is seeking volunteers to represent abused or neglected children in the court system.

Volunteers must be at least 21, possess excellent reading and writing skills, and have compassion for children.

CASA volunteers gather information about the life of a child who has been abused or neglected and then makes recommendations to Wood County Juvenile Court about what is in the child's best interests.

Volunteers must take a 40-hour training course.
