Volunteers from CareNet, the cooperative health-care service set up by the city of Toledo and local hospitals for low-income individuals and families, will be present at a meeting today of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee to offer help to farm workers and migrant workers.
The meeting is to start at 4:30 p.m. at FLOC headquarters, 1221 Broadway. The CareNet presentation will begin at 5.
The city, ProMedica Health System, Mercy Health Partners, and other agencies and organizations collaborated last year to set up CareNet, which provides free health care to people whose incomes are no higher than double the federal poverty level but do not qualify for federal health benefits.
