Perrysburg library to start levy campaign

1/13/2004

Way Public Library in Perrysburg will kick off its 2004 levy campaign during a public event at Schaller Memorial, 130 West Indiana Ave., at 3 p.m. Friday.

Informational material will be provided, and levy campaign committee members will be on hand to answer questions about the levy.

The library s 1-mill operating levy request will be on the March 2 ballot. Voters in Perrysburg are being asked to approve the levy, which would raise $475,000 annually for four years. If approved, the levy would cost the owner of a $200,000 home about $62 annually.

Additional funds would allow the library to continue programs and services that have been threatened by dramatic cutbacks in state library support, according to Mary Meyer, office manager-Web master for the library.
