2/7/2004

Four teens were hurt, one seriously, last night when their car went off Dutch Road near Waterville-Monclova Road in Waterville Township. The car struck a traffic sign and sheared off a utility pole, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Brian Ellis, 16, the driver, was admitted to Medical College of Ohio Hospitals with serious injuries, troopers at the Toledo post said. A hospital nursing supervisor said she had no information.

The other three teens, whose names were not available, were treated in St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, troopers said.

The car was eastbound on Dutch shortly before 8 p.m. when the Ellis youth apparently lost control of the car, troopers said.
