Maumee officials are moving ahead with plans for a police and fire training center.
City council voted Monday to pay Poggemeyer Design Group of Bowling Green to design the new center, which might include an outdoor shooting range and a fire training tower.
Costs for the center have been estimated at $7 million.
The facility would be built on about 30 acres of city-owned land east of Mingo Drive and south of the Maumee Ford plant.
