Fulton County picks temporary prosecutor

WAUSEON - The Fulton County commissioners have appointed an acting county prosecutor to replace William Swigart, whose resignation was effective yesterday.

Roger Nagel, an assistant county prosecutor, will become the acting prosecutor pending a meeting Tuesday of the Fulton County Republican Party central committee. At that time, members officially will fill Mr. Swigart's remaining term through the end of the year.

Mr. Nagel won last month's Republican primary for the prosecutor's four-year term beginning in 2005. He will face Independent candidate Gary Poorman in the general election.
