Grand Rapids: Heyman named to fill vacant seat on council

4/14/2004

Members of the Grand Rapids Village Council appointed Nancy Heyman to fill a vacant seat on council.

Ms. Heyman will complete the term of James Lashuay, who resigned from council on March 22 because his work schedule as a taxi driver conflicted with council meetings, village Administrator Chad Hoffman said.

Mr. Lashuay's four-year term began in January.

Ms. Heyman was the only applicant to fill the council seat.

"She's been interested in getting on council for the past few years," Mr. Hoffman said.
