Two projects in Erie County are among seven that will receive a portion of $256,500 in government grant money to help promote or enhance portions of the Lake Erie shoreline, the state Department of Natural Resources said yesterday.

The Ohio DNR announced the Sandusky Area Maritime Association will receive $30,000 to put toward the anticipated $110,000 cost of creating a wetlands educational exhibit, while the city of Sandusky will receive $15,000 to pay for roughly half the cost of extending the existing Bayfront Corridor with a new eight-mile lakefront trail. The other five grants, from $4,500 to $90,000, are for projects in Cleveland and surrounding areas.
