The Riverside Summer Concert Series will feature the Millstream Singers at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen P. Dudley Memorial Band Shell in Riverside Park. The weekly concerts are free.
The Toledo Symphony Concert Band will perform an outdoor Independence Day concert 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hayes Presidential Center. The show will include show tunes, patriotic songs, and other favorites, plus a cannon firing by a Civil War re-enactment group during the 1812 Overture. The concert is free, but audience members are encouraged to bring a chair.
Bring your snacks, blanket, and bug spray and enjoy a family movie at 9:30 p.m. Friday at White Star Beach. Title to be announced. Snacks must be brought in a plastic container. Registration is required by calling the Sandusky County Park District at 419-334-4495.
Ohio's influence in politics is the focus of "State of Eight: A Bicentennial Tribute to Ohio's Presidential Legacy," on display at the Allen County Museum beginning Friday through Aug. 25. Funded by the Ohio Bicentennial Commission and developed by the staff of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, the exhibit examines the role Ohio has played in presidential politics. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
