FOSTORIA - The East Coast director of the Guardian Angels has visited Fostoria to discuss setting up a local chapter of the citizen patrol group.

Frank Lee toured Fostoria streets Wednesday with Mayor John Davoli and met with the mayor, Safety-Service Director Ralph Wise, and more than 40 residents in City Council chambers.

Mr. Davoli said Mr. Lee would return in about two weeks to meet acting police Chief Rodger Wilson and representatives of the police unions. If a Guardian Angels group is started in Fostoria, members would undergo background checks and training, the mayor said.

Any cost would be covered by donations from businesses and individuals, he added.
