Police seek man thought responsible for 12 Bedford thefts

8/14/2004

Monroe County sheriff's detectives are looking for a man believed to be responsible for as many as 12 thefts in the last several days in Bedford Township.

The suspect, described as a tall, slender, white man in his late teens or early 20s, was seen in the Brentridge subdivision in Lambertville early Wednesday, shining a flashlight into several cars and trying to enter a private garage. Before police arrived, he fled in a gray Oldsmobile Delta 88 stolen earlier in the week from a home in Temperance, detectives said. He is believed to be responsible for at least two car thefts, nine larcenies from automobiles, and a home invasion, detectives said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at the sheriff's Bedford Township substation, 734-847-6146.
