Crews are working on an improvement project at the former Fulton County landfill to address longtime seepage problems at the site in York Township. This is the second phase that includes final grading and providing drainage for water to run off quickly without ponding. A leachate collection system is being constructed along the southern and eastern portions of the landfill. Water that runs into that area will be collected in a tank, pumped out, and disposed of offsite. Cost of the project is $876,000.
