Lynn Barnes, a costume and textile historian, will speak on women's underpinnings as part of the Allen County Museum's "History Uncovered" tea and trunk show from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the West Market Street museum. OREGON

St. Charles Mercy Hospital, 2600 Navarre Ave., will host a community mercury fever thermometer exchange tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Mercury thermometers brought in for the exchange must be in a secure plastic bag. One digital thermometer will be issued per household regardless of the number of mercury thermometers brought in.

SWANTON

Laurie C. Dickens, author of Wreck on the Wabash, will talk about the historic wreck at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brailey Depot located about a mile-and-a-quarter south of Airport Highway here. Additionally, an explanatory model train exhibit will be on display. The event is free.

The Toledo Police Department will hold its third abandoned and forfeited motor vehicle auction of the year at 11 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot bounded by Constitution, Michigan, and Cherry streets. Approximately 100 cars, trucks, and motorcycles will be for sale. Registration begins at 9 a.m. All persons interested in bidding must register before the auction starts.

The City of Toledo will hold a city-wide fall cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, with a focus on litter pickup and yard waste removal. Citizens are encouraged to participate by picking up litter in their neighborhood streets and vacant lots as well as removing any debris, tree limbs, and trash from their alleys.
