Four members of the 2000 Electoral College will participate in a panel discussion starting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University. Michael Pratt, anthropology professor at Heidelberg College, will present an illustrated lecture on the preliminary findings of the Lauber Hill archaeology project at 7:30 p.m. today in the Sauder Heritage Inn. Bowling Green State University will host a free seminar for adults considering starting or returning to college from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow in 1 College Park Office Building. Adults 21 and older are invited to enjoy wine, snacks, and entertainment while waiting for the lunar eclipse from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Otsego Park's Stone Hall at State Routes 235 and 65. Bring your own wine and a lawn chair. Call the Wood County Park District to register. Downtown merchants will hand out goodies to trick or treaters from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Participating businesses will be marked with orange paper pumpkins. The Hancock Park District will host its 8th annual nonscary Halloween hike beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday at Litzenberg Memorial Woods on U.S. 224 west of Findlay. Ottawa County children between 8 and 10 can learn first aid from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Danbury Elementary School. The American Red Cross is offering a Basic Aid Training course to teach children to identify harmful situations, treat common injuries, and respond to emergencies. Students must attend both sessions. The Toledo Camera Club will meet today at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Toledo Botanical Gardens. The meeting is free. Viewing of the lunar eclipse, weather permitting, will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight Wednesday at the University of Toledo's Ritter Planetarium. Admission is $2 for people aged 5 and older, and those interested should meet in the first floor lobby of McMaster Hall. Candidates for the offices of county commissioner, treasurer, sheriff, recorder, and clerk of courts will participate in a debate at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at UT's Scott Park Auditorium. The free event, sponsored by the UT Latino Alumni Affiliate, is open to the public. UT's Ritter Planetarium will host "Horror Stories" at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Participants will hear some classic horror stories associated with the stars. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and children age 4 to 12, and free for children under age 4. Observing the stars will follow the program, weather permitting, at Brooks or Ritter Observatory. For an entertaining and informative look at the moon, UT's Ritter Planetarium will host "The Moon Witch" at 1 p.m. Saturday.
