Walbridge: Mayor outlines 2004 accomplishments
Mayor Dan Wilczynski said the village achievement that stood out the most to him in 2004 was a new employee performance appraisal process, in which all village employees are rated by their supervisors and reviewed among department heads to reward those whose service exceeds expectations.
e said employees were reviewed at the end of 2004 and he hopes to repeat the review process every six months.
Other village accomplishments of note, he said:
●Supporting the elderly by donating funds to help offset the cost of the free shuttle service to and from St. Charles Mercy Hospital.
●Implementing a street and catch basin maintenance program to resurface three-fourths of a mile of roads that need it the most, and to rework 10 percent of catch basins each year.
●Adding a fourth, full-time police officer and filling other staffing needs with part-time officers.
Village officials have also developed a goal-setting process to work toward its long- and short-term goals, which include developing a business council to promote existing and new businesses, and building an information sign to advertise Walbridge events.
