6 hurt in head-on crash on U.S. 6 in Erie County

SANDUSKY Six people were hurt early yesterday in a head-on collision on U.S. 6 in Erie County s Perkins Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Ashley Weaver, 19, of Sandusky was eastbound on U.S. 6 at 1:29 a.m. when she tried to pass another vehicle and collided with a westbound tow truck driven by William Todd III, 28, of Sandusky, troopers said.

Ms. Weaver was in fair condition yesterday in the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Four passengers in her car were injured. Jody Guseman, 20, of Huron, Ohio, was in serious condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Anthony Guerra, 20, of Sandusky was admitted to Firelands Regional Medical Center; his condition was unavailable yesterday. Nichole Terzo, 20, of Sandusky and Joy Kidd, 21, of Port Clinton were treated in Firelands, as was Mr. Todd.

The highway patrol said it is investigating alcohol use as a factor in the crash.
