Seneca County officials commit to jail expansion

2/10/2005

FOSTORIA - Seneca County commissioners Monday voted to commit themselves to expanding the county jail.

The commissioners haven't determined the exact form of the extension, which is necessary for the county to continue receiving detainees from the federal bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The cost of the expansion has been estimated at $2 million, and the county seeks revenue from the government for housing the detainees.
