BOWLING GREEN - A 47-year-old man who had been charged with gross sexual imposition died yesterday in Wood County Hospital after being found unconscious in the Wood County jail, Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said.

Deputies delivered breakfast early in the morning to Gerald Gail Martin, Jr., and about 20 mintues later noticed that he was unconscious. They began CPR and called the jail's medical staff and a rescue squad. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9 a.m., the sheriff said.

The man had prior heart problems, the sheriff said.

The man was arrested Feb. 2 in East Toledo after being accused of assaulting a 9-year-old girl Jan. 29 in Perrysburg Township.

Court records listed the suspect's address as being in the Perrysburg Heights area of the township. Authorities said it appeared he had no permanent address.
