Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations:

Navy Bistro/Tango's, 30 Main, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violations Navy Bistro kitchen: Observed garlic butter out at room temperature; garlic butter is a potentially hazardous food (PHF) and must be held cold at 45 degrees or less or hot at 140 degrees or more. Observed spray bottles without labeling. All chemical spray bottles must be labeled with contents. Six non-critical violations. Tango kitchen: Steak at 49 degrees and noodles at 46 degrees. All PHF must be maintained at proper temperatures. Discard items. Four non-critical violations. Eileen's Bar: Rice in the cooler without a date label. All PHF must have proper date label and discarded after seven days when held at 41 degrees or less and after four day when at 42-45 degrees. Three non-critical violations. Meat, beer, and ice room: Six non-critical violations. Inspector: Jennifer Gottschalk.

Rocky's Bar, 3301 West Central, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violations: Repair cold water faucet at handwash sink. Clean pop nozzles at the bar. Soups were found heating in food warmer. Soups must be reheated on range to 165 degrees before placing them in the food warmer. One non-critical violation. Inspector: James Herzberg.

Tommy's Steakhouse, 5520 West Central, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violation: All prepared food must be properly marked with date. One non-critical violation. Inspector: Herzberg.

Arnie's Saloon, 3332 West Central, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violations: Both ends of pizza conveyor oven need to be cleaned to remove grease, dust, and food particles. Found more than 400 ppm quat sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket. This is too strong and could leave a chemical residue on utensils. Repair lock and hinges of food walk-in cooler so door stays closed. Replace worn and melted cutting boards. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Herzberg.

TMC Cafeteria, 555 North Erie, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violations: Observed potentially hazardous ready-to-eat (RTE) without a date label. Observed raw hamburger thawing in three-compartment sink. All food must thaw either in prep sink under cold running water, in cooler, or as part of the cooking process. Improper thawing will cause bacteria to grow and food borne disease. Observed eggs and egg product stored above juice. Follow proper storage order to prevent contamination. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Julie Nye.

Toledo Speedway Lounge, 5625 Benore, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violations: All refrigerate, RTE, PHF must be date marked. Foods are good for seven days at 41 degrees or less, four days at 42-45 degrees. Date these items also when they are pulled from the freezer. Five non-critical violations. Inspector: Kelly Sattler.

Nick and Jimmy's, 4956 Monroe, inspected Feb. 23. Found two cardboard boxes used to store clean utensils. Clean utensils must be stored in clean washable containers. Found three cigarette butts in an ashtray in food prep area. Employees may not smoke in food prep areas. Two non-critical violations. Inspector: Herzberg.

Al Smith's Place, 3550 Executive, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Food in small glass door refrigerator at cook's line was at 65 degrees, should be at 41 degrees or below. All hamburger, steaks, chicken and wrapped meat were discarded. Do not use this cooler for meat storage it is intended for beverages only. Three non-critical violations. Inspector: Herzberg.

Sports Arena Commissary, 1 Main, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Hot dogs hot holding at 130 degrees. All hot holding PHF must be held at 140 degrees or higher. The unit must be turned up to maintain proper temperatures. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Gottschalk.

Sports Arena stand No. 6, 1 Main, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violations: All hot holding PHF must be held at 140 degrees or higher. Hot dogs were at 120 degrees. Heat on unit was turned up. Unlabeled spray bottle found in the stand. All chemical spray bottles must be labeled with contents. Inspector: Gottschalk.

Sports Arena stand No. 3, 1 Main, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Cut relish and onions must be kept under the sneeze guard or have lids on them. Inspector: Mike Brady.

H-Town LTD, 711 Marmion, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: No date marking observed on container of food in the cooler. All PHF held for longer than 24 hours must be properly marked with a "use by" date. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Cynthia Garcia.

Rumors, 5205 Monroe, inspected Feb. 24. Critical violation: Found a plate of raw steaks stored above packaged vegetables. Raw meat must be stored below all other foods. Inspector: Herzberg.

Mom and Dad's, 2556 Airport, inspected Feb. 24. Critical violations: Employee preparing sandwich for customer not wearing a hair restraint. Employees must wear a hat or hair net while preparing food. Observed employee preparing club sandwich without gloves. Food prep employees must not have bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods. Use suitable utensils such as deli tissue, spatulas, tongs, single-use gloves or dispensing equipment. Macaroni and cheese at 100 degrees. All PHF held hot must be 140 degrees or more. Product discarded. Ten noncritical violations. Inspector: Garcia.

The Toledo Club, 235 14th, inspected Feb. 24. Critical violation: Date mark all refrigerated, ready-to-eat PHF that are held longer than 24 hours. In a cooler at 41 degrees food can be held up to seven days which includes day product was made or manufacturer's seal was broken. Store stock above uncooked meats to prevent potential cross contamination. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Dacquisto.

Connie's Jr's Lounge, 4330 West Central, inspected Feb. 25. Do not use scented bleach as a sanitizer. Scented bleach can leave a residue on utensils. Use plain bleach only. Clean the inside of the bin on the ice maker. Three noncritical violations. Inspector: Herzberg.

El Matador, 3309 Holland-Sylvania, inspected Feb. 25. Critical violations: A consumer advisory is needed on the menu do the serving of rare steaks and hamburgers at customer request. No sanitizer was being dispensed by chemical dishwasher. Repair sanitizer dispenser so that 50 ppm chlorine is dispensed. One noncritical violation. Inspector: Herzberg.

Barada, 5215 Monroe, inspected Feb. 25. Critical violation: Replace missing cover for one light fixture in kitchen. Three noncritical violations. Inspector: Herzberg.

Club Frogtown, 3535 Holland-Sylvania, inspected Feb. 25. Containers of pre-cooked chicken must be marked with date preparation. Found pan of cooked chicken strips in walk-in cooler without date marking. Chicken discarded. Handwash sink at bar must be separated by a metal barrier from rest of bar sinks. Inspector: Herzberg.

East Side Mini Mart, 615 Oak, inspected Feb. 22. Critical violation: Observed eggs stored above cheese and pop in walk-in cooler. Keep all back stock of eggs below other food products to prevent cross-contamination. Repeat violation. Seven non-critical violations. Inspector: Kistler.

Schorlings Market, 3115 Bancroft, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Observed no handwashing between glove changes. All employees must thoroughly wash their hands between gloves changes. Five noncritical violations. Inspector: Kistler.

Milo's Market, 4508 Lewis, inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: All potentially hazardous ready-to-eat foods must be date marked. Foods are goo for seven days at 41 degrees or less after the food is prepared or the manufacturer's packaging is opened. Observed many items with no date marking. Also observed salads and dips that packaged here with "use by" date that exceed seven days. Four non-critical violations. Inspector: Sattler.

Lee Williams Meats Inc., 3002 131 St. inspected Feb. 23. Critical violation: Found salad dressing at room temperature. The contatiner states that it must be refrigerated after opening. Dressing was discarded. No date labeling on reduced oxygen packaged (ROP) products. A 14-day discard date must be marked on products that are ROP. Observed hot dogs and vegetable dip with improper expiration date. Observed raw meat over hot dogs; ground product over smoked ham shanks, and chicken over pre-packaged crab meat in walk-in cooler. Follow proper food storage rules. Observed two bags of potatoes on the floor in the sales area. All food must be stored at least six inches off the floor at all times to prevent contamination. Nine non-critical violations. Inspector: Gottschalk.

Kroger, 4533 Monroe, inspected Feb. 24. Critical violations remaining from previous inspection: Potentially hazardous foods are to be maintained at 41 degrees or less or 140 degrees and above. Coolers are to be adjusted to maintain potentially hazardous foods at 41 degrees or less. Adjust hot holding unit in deli to maintain proper holding temperatures. One noncritical violation. Inspector: Heiser.

J & J Cafe, 3922 Lagrange, inspected Feb. 7. Critical violations: Gravy is 120 degrees in crock pot; reheat gravy to at least 165 degrees. Cold foods must be kept at 45 degrees or less. Frozen meat thawed at room temperature Four non critical violations. Inspector: Sattler.
