WAUSEON - Smoking will no longer be allowed in buildings owned by the city of Wauseon.
City Council approved a committee recommendation last night to eliminate designated smoking areas at its water plant and public works building. It also barred smoking in city-owned vehicles if more than one person is in the vehicle.
Karen Krumm, council president, said the changes bring city-owned buildings in line with Wauseon's smoking regulations for public places, which voters approved in November and council later modified.
