BELLEVUE, Ohio - Bellevue City Council has approved a two-year contract with unionized firefighters that includes annual pay raises of 2.5 percent.
The contract, which council ratified Monday night, replaces a three-year pact with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees that expired last month.
Safety-service Director Jeff Crosby said city officials had sought a shorter contract because Bellevue has a 0.5 percent income tax renewal on the May 3 ballot.
