Maumee City Council has approved a job creation and retention grant for Hanson Inc.

The company, which has been at 136 North Summit St. in Toledo since 1991, plans to move to Arrowhead Park. It will receive up to $11,500 annually for the next four years.

The company, which develops Web sites and produces videos, has 32 employees and a payroll of about $2.3 million. It has been considering sites in Toledo and Sylvania as well as Maumee, said Brett Krewson, finance director for Hanson.

The company must maintain its current payroll and employment level for at least six years.

Mr. Krewson said the grant will help the company pay moving and renovation expenses.

Maumee began its job creation and retention grant program in 1992. It has awarded more than $5 million to more than 50 companies that pledged to move to the city, hire more employees, or make capital improvements at sites in the city.
